Brazil : community-driven development in rural communities of the northeast : a case study

Abstract: The community-driven approach applied by the Rural Poverty Reduction Program in NE Brazil contributed to reducing poverty and improving lives in a region with a large concentration of poor rural people. At the same time it lead to empowerment, improved governance, and reduced corruption.
