Community forest management and the emergence of multi-scale governance institutions : lessons for REDD+ development from Mexico, Brazil and Bolivia

Abstract: The role of multi-scaled governance institutions in the development of community forest management (CFM) is examined, using cases from Mexico, Brazil, and Bolivia. The article shows how the establishment of a local organizational base for CFM is crucial.
