Monitoring quality of care and accountability mechanisms at the district level : the potential role of the National health insurance scheme in Ghana

Abstract: A framework for monitoring the quality of care by the NHIS (National Health Insurance Scheme) at district level in Ghana was developed and an exploratory study of the current accountability mechanisms is presented.
