Public provisioning of health and decentralization in Gujarat

Abstract: The contribution of the decentralized system of governance to the delivery of health services in rural areas of Gujarat, India, is explored. In every village as a Village Health and Sanitation Committee (VHSC) is established and various health programmes are decentralized to the Panchayat level.
