Reconceiving social exclusion

Abstract: This paper argues that the concept of social exclusion should be redefined to reflect structural, institutional or agentive processes of repulsion or obstruction. The definition no longer implies poverty, allowing for a conceptualization of processes that occur vertically across social hierarchies.
