Rural demography, public services and land rights in Africa : a village-level analysis in Burkina Faso

Abstract: Following internal migration into river valleys after Onchocerciasis eradication, the effect of population density on land use regulation was examined. Improved public services and private property rights were indeed correlated with changes in the scarcity of land.
