The role of land tools with respect to land access and tenure security for the poor : cases from Anglophone peri-urban Africa

Abstract: Three peri-urban areas in Zambia, Namibia and Botswana were studied to evaluate the poverty alleviating impact of innovative tools for the formalization of informal settlements. These tools can be considered a useful addition, but appear to have mixed results.
