The role of rural women in local governance : case study on socio-economic context in Bangladesh

Abstract: The socio-economic background and causes of problems of women’s participation in local governance in Bangladesh are examined. Many female UP members had family members in politics. Most problems in performing their responsibilities as UP members are linked to male members non-cooperative attitudes.
