The International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) is a leading international organization advancing the practice of public participation.
Founded in 1990, IAP2 is an international association of members who seek to promote and improve the practice of public participation in relation to individuals, governments, institutions, and other entities that affect the public interest in nations throughout the world.
IAP2 members work in industry, civil society organizations, universities, government and more. They are involved in the public participation process by supporting clients, colleagues and citizens for improved decision-making.
IAP2 itself promotes participative decision-making by advocating for its use throughout the world, establishing a results-oriented research agenda, using research to support education and advocacy, and providing technical assistance to improve public participation.
Today, IAP2 has affiliated hubs in Australia, Canada, France, Southern Africa, Western Africa, the United States, Indonesia, Italy, and Germany.
