As part of our international program, the Sunlight Foundation have been working to expand public access to government information on a global scale. To help achieve this goal, we frequently engage in knowledge sharing and provide technical expertise and capacity to like-minded organizations in other countries. Exchanges between Sunlight staff and members of the global open government community play a key role in this strategy.
During our inbound exchanges, we select open government activists (civic hackers, transparency advocates, investigative journalists) from outside the U.S. to come work at our offices in Washington, DC for a few weeks. Participants have the opportunity to work on projects and engage in specialized skills transfer with Sunlight staff.
During the out-bound exchanges, we send members of Sunlight staff to spend a few weeks and work closely with an open government organization and help with their projects.
If you’re interested in taking part in an inbound or outbound exchange with the Sunlight Foundation, fill out the application form below.
We are reviewing applications and accepting candidates on a quarterly basis. The current deadline for applications is August 25, 2014. If you’ve been selected for further consideration, we’ll contact you for an interview.
