Local government and traditional authorities in Ghana : towards a more productive relationship

Abstract: In 2008, Ghana counted 170 local government units: Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies. Traditional authorities have played and continue to play an important role in the politico-socio-economic development of Ghana.
